Dockit - Digital receipts and warranty management for Australian retail
Designing and building an AI-augmented, paperless post-purchase platform from the ground up.
How might we
How might we design and deliver a digital receipt platform that works for consumers at the point of sale, gives merchants post-purchase intelligence, and ships fast enough to validate with real retailers?

Dockit is replacing the paper receipt coated in BPA, impossible to recycle, and forgotten within days with a digital-first post-purchase experience for consumers and merchants across Australia.
Everest Engineering partnered with Dockit to design and build the entire product from scratch. Starting with a proof of concept to validate the core idea with real retail partners, we moved into a full MVP across three surfaces consumer mobile app, merchant admin console, and marketing website delivered in five months using Spec-Driven Development and AI-augmented design workflows.
• Designed and shipped POC to MVP in 5 months
• 3 surfaces built on a single cohesive design system
• POS integration architecture validated for Square, Lightspeed, and Shopify

Working with Everest has been a great starting point for Dockit. The team took a genuinely complex, privacy-first idea and turned it into a live product that we are now beginning to pilot. What stood out most for me was how easy they are to work with - personable, responsive, and properly invested in getting it right. I really enjoyed the experience and appreciated their patience when it came to explaining everything in terms I understood.

Scalability
Built on a single cohesive design system across three surfaces consumer app, merchant console, and marketing website so every new feature and merchant added without starting from scratch.

AI-Augmented Design and Delivery
Spec-Driven Development and AI-augmented workflows using Claude and Figma MCP kept design, engineering, and product aligned throughout three surfaces, five months, no rework spirals.

User Experience
Every screen was designed for the moment after purchase, when attention is lowest and friction tolerance is zero. From barcode display in Apple and Google Wallet to one-tap warranty activation designed to feel effortless.

Cross-Functional Excellence
Our team of product, design, and engineering worked as one unit across the entire five months — POC, consumer app, merchant console, and marketing website without handoff delays or rework cycles. Three surfaces. One team. One design system.

Our partnership with

Proof of Concept
Before committing to a full build, we validated the core idea with real retail partners. Digital receipt capture at point of sale. Apple Wallet and Google Wallet integration meant the consumer's barcode was available instantly at the POS no app required. The gave Dockit the credibility to move into full product development with confidence.

Consumer Mobile App
Designed for a broad Australian retail audience. WCAG compliant from the first sprint. Receipts captured automatically at checkout. Spend history organised by store and category. Every interaction designed to feel effortless because the best post-purchase experience is one the customer barely notices.

Merchant Admin Console
Built for operators, not developers. Full visibility across invitation flows, location and category management, POS integration status, and real-time receipt issuance all without technical knowledge to operate. Integration architecture designed and validated for Square, Lightspeed O Series, and Shopify covering the majority of the Australian retail market.

Brand and Marketing Website
Brand identity developed in parallel with the product not bolted on at the end. The marketing website was designed to work simultaneously as a merchant sales tool, investor credibility signal, and product explainer. Three creative directions explored before landing on an editorial aesthetic that balanced authority with approachability.

Result
Everest Engineering took Dockit from an idea to an investor and retailer-ready product in five months. A consumer app, merchant console, and marketing website all built on a single cohesive design system, delivered using AI-augmented workflows, and validated with real retail partners before the full build began.
Dockit now has the product foundation, brand identity, and integration architecture to scale across the Australian retail market.
