The Opportunity
As a Product Manager, it's critical you attain fluency in those languages used by your colleagues in all of the executive, finance, data and engineering, design, sales, marketing and client success. There is a lot to learn, but much like trying your best to build a human connection with someone from overseas and them appreciating you are stepping up to the line, so will your colleagues within your own business when you show you care.
The Why
In today's fast-moving business environment, being multilingual as a Product Manager is essential for success. Without the ability to communicate effectively across the aforementioned disciplines, Product Managers may struggle to collaborate effectively with teams, interpret data, and progress products that really move the dial with their customers.
The Everest Offering
In this course, you will be exposed to and learn vocabulary linked to the many different languages spoken inside a business, which can help bridge gaps, leading to better cross-functional collaboration, and the delivery of successful products. Speaking this new vocabulary, you will be able to better navigate complex challenges, drive innovation, and deliver products that resonate with diverse audiences, both internally and externally.
What You Will Learn
This learning module covers off on the following material -
* Develop a multilingual mindset to work effectively with those in executive leadership roles, together with those in your team who may well be looking to you for inspiration and direction.
* Learn how to engage data analysts and engineers so you can build a meaningful bridge into the world of software engineering.
* Become familiar with financial lingo and concepts used by those in finance, which can help you build credible and defensible cases you can put in front of management teams.
* Take a lens to design thinking practices and user research, which will greatly help you speak the language of your UX researchers and product designers.
* Learn the language of our brethren in sales and marketing, who so often work alongside cross-functional product teams.
* Let's not forget those in client success that work at the coalface with customers of your business.
* Workshop cross-cultural differences in cross-border settings, which raises awareness around things we take for granted may not be so clear to our colleagues abroad.
Your facilitator
Over the course of these 8 weeks, we will have the pleasure of working alongside facilitators whose backgrounds span executive roles, finance, data and engineering, design, sales, marketing and client success. Each will walk you through their worlds, and help you build greater familiarity with them.
